History is alive at the Redondo Beach Historic Library. The building began way back in the late 1800s as a small reading room for weary sailors and eventually became Redondo Beach’s first free-standing public library. Designed by architect Lovell Pemberton, the library was built using a combination of Spanish and Dutch colonial styles and features Art Deco moldings along the front façade and an abundance of arched top windows. It served as the public library from 1930 until 1991.
In 1996, after interior remodeling, the library once again opened to the public as an event venue. Situated on the gorgeous ten acres of Veteran’s Park, the space offers not only a spectacular view of the ocean but a luxurious array of amenities and services for weddings of up to 300 people.
Inside the building, you’ll find a grand ballroom, a bridal room, a banquet room, and more. The spaces are easily adaptable to any theme or style and the professional staff will help make your dream wedding a reality.
A very special feature of this venue is its policy of taking only one event at a time. Whether you choose an elaborate gala for 300 or an intimate evening for 50, the staff will focus on your event, providing professional, impeccable service in every area.
A standout feature of the Redondo Beach Historic Library is their on-site catering, which has a reputation for outstanding food and service. Also available are DJs, wedding cakes, valet parking, getting ready rooms, and so much more, all with that stunning Oceanside view.
There are many locations for wedding photographs at the Redondo Beach Historic Library. From cozy, warm, candle-lit spaces inside to romantic sunset ocean views outside, every photo will reflect your style and the historic elements of the venue.
The architecture and history of the Redondo Beach Historic Library make it special, and the spectacular sweeping views of the ocean make it unforgettable. Outdoor ceremonies take maximum advantage of this amazing setting, but activities indoors are also afforded magnificent views through the building’s many windows.
Just a short drive from Los Angeles, the Redondo Beach Historic Library offers a historic building with modern amenities, a beautiful location, and a professional staff that delivers impeccable service. It’s a pleasure to take wedding photographs at this unique, historic venue.
