Q&A with Denise Lillie
What is your company story? What got you into the industry?
“My career in event planning began with campaign work and political organizing. I was privileged to work as a Community Affairs Specialist for Senator Carl Levin for seven years. I thoroughly enjoyed impacting people’s lives in such a meaningful and personal way, but found myself craving a creative outlet. This is how I came across the Wedding Industry, and fell in love with it ever since!”
What is the mission or purpose of your company?
“Our core mission is to inspire, plan, and execute each event with flawless sophistication. We have a very goal-driven philosophy, and our clients experience that through each phase of our planning process, and in turn, it results in an unforgettable event.”
What is your your ideal client?
“We love working with clients who identify as Type-A, detail-oriented, perfectionists with discerning taste.”
How do you strive to be different from others in your space?
“We have made our mark in the industry as Leaders in the Multi-cultural, Fusion Wedding space. We are highly experienced in the production of Indian Weddings, Persian Weddings, Tea Ceremonies, and Multi-Ceremony Weddings.”
What is your favorite venue and why?
“We love the Hyatt and it was an absolute pleasure to work with Pye (Lead Photographer from Lin & Jirsa) on a week-long wedding event there. It’s our favorite for the unbelievable location overlooking the lake, the impeccable service; it has great capacity while still feeling intimate. It’s the perfect marriage of gorgeous indoor infrastructure while having the beautiful backdrop of nature.”
Anything else our clients should know about you?
“I’m a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and love everything they embody and stand for. They participate in various charitable pursuits and community efforts every year, and I love to get involved anyway I can, as often as I can, each year, outside of my event season.”
