Located on iconic Wilshire Boulevard in the heart of Los Angeles, the Ebell has a history of empowering women. The Ebell is women’s club, formed in 1894 (named after Adrian Ebell, a pioneer in the women’s movement in the 1800s). The Ebell of Los Angeles built its 1270-seat Broadway-style theater, the Wilshire on Ebell, as well as the clubhouse that is perfect for housing a variety of functions, including weddings, in 1927. The Ebell of Los Angeles represents a lovely piece of SoCal history and a monument to girl power that will be the perfect spot for an elegant and meaningful wedding.
“”Looking for a place to hold your next meeting or event? The Ebell of Los Angeles & Wilshire Ebell Theatre provides the perfect environment to inspire your guests. Located on Wilshire Boulevard in the heart of Los Angeles, the Ebell is home to a historic Clubhouse.”
As the location of Amelia Earhart’s last public appearance before her ill-fated flight around the world and the site where Judy Garland’s talent was first discovered, the Ebell of LA has hosted plenty of history’s renowned players. It would be a lovely site to prepare for your monumental day with the people who mean the most to you. The Ebell offers a bridal suite for you and your party to relax and take in the day ahead.
At Lin and Jirsa Wedding Photography, we tell love stories, capturing your wedding day moments from the earliest hours until the last dance ends, like the photographs below of this bride and her bridesmaids preparing for a beautiful Indian wedding. We have plenty of experience capturing the traditions of Indian weddings, from Mehndi parties, to the Sangeet ceremony, to the grand Baraat. We would be honored to tell the story of your unique wedding.
The Ebell’s clubhouse offers two locations to host your wedding and reception, the Lounge or the Courtyard and Dining Room. You can choose to have all of your festivities in the Lounge (pictured below), with it’s soaring ceilings, intricate woodwork, and floor-to-ceiling arched windows.
The Lounge also features a grand staircase and a mezzanine level where guests can watch the proceedings from above.
The gilded ceiling and wrought-iron chandeliers in the Lounge are emblematic of the Ebell’s early-20th-century Italian-Renaissance style.
The second location you can choose for your ceremony and/or reception is the Dining Room, which opens up to the adjoining Courtyard. Also lovely with a series of carved archways, the Dining Room is a more intimate space than the majestic Lounge, but it provides the added flexibility of an indoor-outdoor celebration.
The Courtyard in the moonlight is a romantic, sumptuous spot for a private moment together and some couple’s photography.
Q: How many guests does the Ebell of Los Angeles allow?
A: A ceremony in the Garden can seat 250 guests, while a ceremony in the Lounge can seat 250-300. And an indoor reception seats 100-250 guests with a dance floor. A Garden reception allows for 200 seated guests.
